Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership

Jodi Stemler Consulting has worked with the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership (TRCP) on a number of projects over the years. TRCP was the very first client for Jodi in 2005 working on marine sport-fishing issues, and they have partnered together regularly over the years. Projects have included event management, report development and communications and policy work.
Lower Mississippi River Partner Convening
Event Coordinator
2022
Jodi Stemler Consulting coordinated and facilitated a three day meeting of partner organizations to begin developing collaborative projects to benefit conservation in the Lower Mississippi River region.

DOI Secretary Welcome
Event Coordinator
2013
When Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell was confirmed in 2013, TRCP hosted a reception for her to introduce her to the sportsmen’s community. Jodi Stemler Consulting coordinated event details and ensured that there was a broad group of attendees to welcome the new Secretary to her position.
Renewable Energy
Event Coordinator
2011-2012
As renewable energy development started to increase, TRCP worked with other sportsmen’s conservation organizations to ensure that industrial solar and wind facilities are properly sited and that appropriate mitigation measures are incorporated into planning. Work on this project included coordinating a “Sportsmen Speak on Solar” forum in Las Vegas, coordinating review and input on the Department of the Interior’s Solar Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement, media outreach and development of opinion pieces, and the coordination of a multi-stakeholder mitigation workshop in Washington, DC that brought together the sportsmen’s and environmental community with renewable and traditional energy companies.
Energy & Wildlife Coalition
Communications Lead
2006-2008
Jodi Stemler Consulting worked with TRCP’s Energy & Wildlife Working Group on publications to support their principles for balancing energy development on federal lands with the needs of sportsmen and wildlife populations. This included developing a brochure outlining their “FACTS for Fish and Wildlife,” a grassroots advocacy brochure, campaign reports and media outreach.
Marine Conservation Initiative
Initiative Manager
August 2005 to October 2006
Jodi Stemler Consulting’s first project in 2005 was serving as the initiative manager for the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership’s Marine Conservation Initiative. Jodi coordinated a coalition of sport-fishing groups – the Angling 4 Oceans coalition – to develop policy priorities and to encourage those policies be included in reauthorization of the Magnuson-Stevens Act. Those priorities were documented in the coalition’s Angling4Oceans Report that Jodi wrote, edited, and managed design and production for. In addition, Jodi organized a marine fishing media summit in Destin, Florida to provide sport-fishing writers the opportunity to learn about the coalition’s policy recommendations. Most of the recommendations of the coalition were included when Congress reauthorized the Magnuson-Stevens Act in 2006.
